Report on One day Training Cum Input Distribution Programme for Development of Integrated Farming System In Basar Area under Tribal Sub plan (TSP)
ICAR, Basar 10th January 2019: One day Training Cum Input Distribution Programme for Development of Integrated Farming System in Basar Area under Tribal Sub plan (TSP) was organised by ICAR RC NEH, Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar. Shri Komjum Riba, PS Ministry of state home affairs graced the meeting as Chief guest and Shri Toli Bam ADA(Assistant Director Agriculture), Basar graced as guest of honour. In his speech, honourable Shri Komjum Riba shared his knowledge and experience to the farmers ,Shri Toli Bam encouraged the farmers to continue agriculture with scientific approach and talked about potential of Agriculture & Horticulture in Basar Area and Dr. H. Kalita emphasised on the importance of off season cultivation of crops in poly house. In the presence of chief guest and guest of honour, Dr. H. Kalita distributed shed net and poly house sheet to selected farmers from Daring and Tirbin Village. During the technical session, Dr.H.Kalita lectured about role of ICAR technologies developed for livelihood improvement of tribal Farmers, Dr. R.A Alone Scientist( Agroforestry) lectured about livelihood improvement of tribal farmers through low cost poly house technology, Dr. Doni Jini, Scientist(VEE) lectured about livelihood improvement of tribal farmers through livestock farming and Ms Ampee Tasung, Scientist (Soil Science) lectured about importance of soil sampling and soil testing to enhance soil productivity which directly improves the crop productivity of tribal farmers in Basar area. After lunch break, there was field visit at ICAR RC farm Gori. In the concluding session, 40 nos of low cost poly house were distributed to around 40 farmers from Basar, Tirbin, Daring circle of Lepa Rada district. The farmers appreciated the efforts done by ICAR, Basar centre and seek for further such activities in the coming future. In and all, the one day training cum distribution programme was concluded with admiration and applause.
